Payment Options Around the World

Most payment gateways offer services in the EU and US, some also include Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, but what do you do if you are not based in one of these areas? You check out these guys!

2CheckOut

2CheckOut allows you to set-up an online store wherever you are! They have exceptional coverage, but only offer online payments (not phone or face to face). 2CheckOut integrates with many leading CRM apps, and overall has a good level of integration with other services. You can quickly check the exact fees for your country on their website, but we have summarised the main charge bands below.

Charges: 2.4% +30c (UK/EU), 2.9% + 30c (US), 3.4% + 45c (Canada/South Africa), 3.9% +45c (Rest of World)

CyberSource

CyberSource is the parent company of Authorize.net, so has a good name in the financial services. Whereas Authorize.net only operates in the US, EU, Canada, and Australia, CyberForce offer much wider coverage, taking in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. They offer mobile and over-the-phone payments, as well as online, and support recurring payments, but give little detail on their site about fees, so best to get in touch directly if you feel they are best for you.

Charges: 2.39% + $0.35 transaction fee but difficult to find this data on their website

WorldPay

WorldPay offers a payment gateway for businesses based in the EU, US, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Japan. You can accept payments face-to-face, online, or over the phone, and offers services to businesses of all sizes, so you can be sure that WorldPay can look after your business as it grows, and if you need accessories such as card readers and till rolls, WorldPay offers excellent deals on compatible products.

Charges: £75 set-up fee, £15/month – 1.9% + 10p transaction fee

PayPal

PayPal is probably the one you’ve heard of, and it can work well for may, but is known to have a relatively complex pricing structure, and poor customer support, but if you are looking for a payment option which is known and accepted all over the world, you’d be hard-pushed to find a bigger name than PayPal!

Charges: 2.9% plus $0.30 transaction fee

International charges: +1% cross-border fee -/+2.5% currency conversion fee
